Bruges is proud to welcome the 20th international B.E.S.T. congress on 11 and 12 December 2023. As in the previous 2018 edition, we expect more than 300 bariatric surgeons from all over Europe at this congress, which will take place at the BMCC. The meeting will provide a comprehensive overview of the latest research and developments in bariatric and metabolic surgery.

The B.E.S.T is BACK in BRUGES!

It is our pleasure and our honour to invite you all to the 20th B.E.S.T Congress on the 11th and 12th of December 2023. The venue will be the brand new Bruges Meeting & Convention Centre (BMCC) in medieval Bruges, Belgium.

The B.E.S.T ( Bariatric Endoscopic Surgical Trends) meeting has become a scientifically highly appreciated congress in the field of bariatric and metabolic surgery. The quality of the faculty with some of the best renowned bariatric and metabolic surgeons worldwide guarantees the meeting to be highly successful.  All credits have to go to Dr. Nilton Kawahara and his South American colleagues  for their continuous and inspirational thrive to get this meeting internationally on the map.

Proudly referring to the past, the meeting will focus on complex and revisional bariatric and metabolic procedures as well as on new developments in our still rapidly evolving field.

Both congress days will encompass up to 16 cases of live surgery in the ‘deferred live’ video format as imposed by IFSO guidelines, high standard lectures and interactive debates. As for the socio-cultural part, Bruges as the ‘Venice of the North’, does not need to be clarified more. The program is in full progress and will be finalized mid-August.
